He may play a superhero on the big screen, but Robert Downey Jr. gets hurt just like the rest of us.
While filming Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina on Wednesday, the 47-year-old actor suffered an ankle injury, causing production to be halted.
In a statement, Marvel Studios explained, “Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt.”
The studio added, “There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.”
A rep for Downey declined to comment.
The plot for the new action-packed flick is still unknown, but rumours suggest that Tony Stark/Iron Man could be heading to China to battle his toughest opponent, Mandarin.
