Rihanna and Drake will be the ones to beat at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6 after scoring five nominations each.
Both artists will compete with last year’s big winner Katy Perry, as well as Gotye and M.I.A. for the big prize of the night, Video of the Year.
The Best New Artist competition will see Carly Rae Jepsen‘s catchy “Call Me Maybe” going up against Fun.‘s “We Are Young”, Frank Ocean‘s “Swim Good”, One Direction‘s “What Makes You Beautiful” and The Wanted‘s “Glad You Came”.
The MTV Video Music Awards are one of the few awards shows that are chosen by the fans. You can cast your vote for categories such as Video of the Year, Best New Artist and more by visiting vma.mtv.com.
