After the announcements that Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have officially departed the judges table of American Idol, producers are said to be on the look out for some big name replacements.

Rumours of who could be possibly taking over the job include Miley Cyrus, Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey, however according to Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, that’s unlikely to happen.

The America’s Got Talent host said, “I don’t know if they [Idol] can afford Mariah Carey. That’s a lot of money. If they gave J.Lo $20 million, they might have to double that!”

Cannon has a point – Idol CAN’T afford Mariah! The reality competition show suffered its worst ratings drop of all time last season and is reportedly cutting costs.
