Just a day after the stars of Modern Family – Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson – refused to participate in a table read for the upcoming season of their show and filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court against 20th Century Fox Television in a bid to increase their salary, new reports have surfaced, suggesting the stars will indeed be in attendance at the re-scheduled table read tomorrow.
Putting their salary dispute aside, the give cast members have agreed to continue working on their hit comedy show while negotiations continue.
While O’Neill makes US$105,000 per episode, the rest of the cast earn significantly less at US$65,000 per episode, prompting them to request a hefty raise to US$200,000. While that may seem a little steep, when you consider that ABC made over $160 million from advertising last year alone, you can certainly understand why they’re asking for so much.
Let’s hope the issues are settled soon, and the cast is paid accordingly for making the show what it is today!
