It’s no secret that celebrities are often the targets of rumours and stories, but last night’s emergency call to Miley Cyrus‘ Los Angeles home is just sick!

After receiving a phone call claiming that gun shots were fired and a possible kidnapping was in progress, the Los Angeles Police Department were dispatched to Cyrus’ home around 7pm, only to find out that it was a prank call!

When police showed up with guns drawn, they discovered that everything seemed to be in order and that Miley wasn’t even home – she’s visiting boyfriend Liam Hemsworth in Philadelphia while he films Paranoia.

According to Sgt. Jim Parker, the incident came from a “911 abuser” and is part of a recent trend called “Swatting,” in which someone tries to get a S.W.A.T. team deployed to a victim’s home.
