The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn actress has signed on to play the lead role in the forthcoming drama Lie Down in Darkness, based on the 1951 William Styron novel.

Kristen will play a woman named Peyton Loftis, a girl whose beauty makes life difficult as she struggles through life with an incestuous and alcoholic father and jealous mother.

According to reports, K-Stew beat out Jennifer Lawrence for the coveted role.
