Fans may think Justin Bieber‘s voice is beautiful and perfect, but one San Francisco Belieber’s mother believes it’s deafening.

According to her civil complaint, Stacey Wilson Betts brought her daughter to a Bieber concert in July 2010 in Portland, Oregon, where she claims she suffered permanent hearing loss from the noise.

Betts explained, “[Bieber] climbed into a heart shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd,” creating a “wave like effect of screaming” and “enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.”

The condition the woman now suffers from is called tinnitus, an ailment where she constantly hears a pulsing sound.

Betts is now filing a lawsuit against Bieber, his record label, concert promoter and the arena, suing them for US$9.23 million in damages.
