As previously reported, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have got the X Factor!

The two singing superstars are no strangers to big publicity events, and earlier today, they took to the 2012 FOX Upfronts in New York City to announce that they had officially signed on for the forthcoming season of their new hit reality competition show.

Britney and Demi will fill the vacancies left by former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger following their departure in January.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join The X Factor judging panel. I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action. Simon and L.A. better watch out!” Britney said in a statement.

“I’m so thrilled to join this legendary group of judges on [the show],” Demi added. “To be able to spend each week with Simon, L.A. and Britney watching the best that America has to offer is truly a dream come true.”

FOX honchos Kevin Reilly and Peter Rice told press the changes at X Factor are in an effort to make the gig more “entertaining and exciting.”
