He’s always up to something a bit out of the ordinary, and now Tim Burton‘s latest film Frankenweenie has dropped a new promotional poster.

The Walt Disney Pictures flick is an animated film starring the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Catherine O’Hara and Charlie Tahan.

Per the synopsis, Frankenweenie is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous.

Frankenweenie hits NZ theaters on October 18, 2012 in regular 2D and 3D formats.
