“Breaking Dawn” Director Speaks About Robsten Scandal

Twihards, it’s time to give back.

When news broke that Kristen Stewart had been cheating on Robert Pattinson, we all knew that they’d have to come together to promote the final chapter of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 when it’s released in November.

And while the cast have been forced to stay silent while the couple deal with their post-affair lives, the film’s director Bill Condon has a message to the franchise’s huge fan base.

“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” Condon told this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly. “Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon.”

“Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”

Pattinson is set to make his first televised appearance since the cheating scandal on The Daily Show on Monday (August 13), before moving on to Good Morning America for a LIVE interview on Wednesday (August 15).
