Anna Hutchison has joined the cast of the hit swords-and-sandals drama Spartacus for it’s third season.
The 26-year-old Aucklander – who has previously starred in Shortland Street, Underbelly, Go Girls and Cabin in the Woods – will play Laeta, the wealthy wife of a Roman official who becomes entangled in the struggle against Spartacus. Her life and those closest to her are forever changed by the conflict.
Also joining the third season of Spartacus are Australian actress Jenna Lind, as well as fellow New Zealander Gwendoline Taylor.
Lind will play Kore, a loyal slave to Marcus Crassus (Simon Merells), the Roman attempting to bring an end to Spartacus and his rebellion.
Meanwhile, Taylor will playa young Sibyl, a young slave rescued from Roman cruelty who comes into contact with key leaders in the rebellion.
Production on Season 3 of Spartacus is currently underway in Auckland and is expected to begin airing in 2013.
