Bringing together a star-studded cast featuring some of action movie’s greatest stars, The Expendables has without a doubt proven to be successful, and now a third installment is already in the works!
Producer Adi Shankar has hired Dutch Southern to write an all-female riff on the action franchise, and is already in talks with several actresses to star!
While no names have been announced, the director of The Expendables 2, Simon West, may have dropped some hints during an interview with E! News. “I like the idea of the Expenda-Belles where it’s seven or eight women mercenaries,” he said. “It would be Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Milla Jovovich, the list goes on. Helen Mirren, Jamie Lee Curtis would be great.”
In case West needs any help with casting, I’d like to expand his list with my own suggestions of women who have proven themselves to join the butt kicking movie: Lucy Lawess, Signourney Weaver, Jennifer Garner, Lucy Liu, Kate Beckinsale, Demi Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Linda Hamilton, Uma Thurman, Maggie Q… The list could go on.
